Visit to Belfast

Northern Ireland is not famous for Peace nor for Weather. I was ready to take my chance on "peace" but not on weather. So the last weekend weather was like a dream come true. Early saturday morning headed out to Belfast. On the first day, I got on to the Hop on and Hop off bus and toured the city to see the famous Dry dock where Titanic was built. Belfast had the largest Ship building indistry uptill 1960's. Now its dependent on Tourism. The 6 county's has been battered by violence. There are more than 17 peace walls cris crossing the city just to keep the different communities away from each other. The second day,i went out fo visit the reason why I came to Belfast. "Giants Causeway". Its a world heritage site. The very rare phenomenon of the rock formation is what attracts 800 thousand people to Northern Ireland. Some say, it was an Irish warrior who wanted to wage battle with the scottish, who by the way are at visible range from the Irish costline built those steps. Before heading to this place, i did cross the famous rope bridge. It seems a farmer used to take 11 sheep to graze on thsi tiny Island.
The giants Causeway was really a wonderful palce to Visit. every single stone looks man made and its precision and abundance does not stop to astound you no matter which direction you look at.
belfast was the best short trip I had. Totaly worth it.
